University Hospitals Birmingham is host to one of the UKs largest and comprehensive Audiology services operating across four acute hospitals within the West Midlands region. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our team. Based at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital the post holder will report to the Adult Audiology Lead and will operate within the wider network of UHB Audiology services.

The post holder will autonomously see patients of all ages with hearing and/or balance difficulties in Audiology and ENT Clinics. This may include specialist clinics for example tinnitus, balance and adults with complex needs. They will carry out assessments for new patients, the fitting of hearing aids, and provide follow-up care to include hearing aid repairs. They will practice holistically, respecting diversity and protected characteristics, and collaborate with healthcare professionals, students, and agencies as required.

They will contribute to practice development, adhere to Trust policies and professional codes, and may work across multiple sites within UHB.

• Registration with (RCCP, HCPC, AHCS, HAD)
• Membership of BAA, BSA

• Training period must include a significant period of supervised clinical training
• Knowledge of methods used to evaluate hearing, balance and tinnitus
• Knowledge of current hearing aid technology and application, including verification techniques
• Understanding of the issues surrounding hearing impairment and impact on quality of life
• Knowledge of hearing pathologies and otoscopic examination and interpretation
• Knowledge of BSA and BAA Guidelines
• Knowledge of NICE Guidelines for Hearing Aid Assessment and Management
• Knowledge of IQIPS
