Swan Medical Centre is a GP surgery based in Yardley Birmingham. We are a busy practice with 4 GP Partners, salaried GPs and we offer a range of health care services
We are looking for an experienced receptionist to join our team!
Main duties of the jobMain duties of the job
Job Responsibilities
- Dealing with patients requests via the telephone, triage and face to face
- Booking appointments with clinicians
- Workflow and all relevant administration tasks within reception
- Faxing, handing mail, emailing and sending letters to patients
- Completing prescription requests
Flexibility of working hours is essential for this role as you may be asked to cover at short notice. The role is working Monday to Friday.

The post-holder will be a part of the reception team. They will be part of a reception front of house team responsible for the effective running and workload in the reception and report to the Deputy Manager/ Practice Manager.

Skills and experience
- Previous experience in a similar role within a GP or hospital setting is desirable.
- Having Systm one experience would be an advantage
- Having a self motivated and forward thinking approach
- Excellent organisational, planning skills and IT skills
- Excellent and effective communication skills
- Good Standard of Education GCSE Grade C in English and Maths Competent using a computer
- Experience with in health care setting
- System one trained
- Accurx trained
