We are delighted to offer a committed and experienced AHP clinical lead the opportunity to join us as our Divisional AHP lead in Children and Families.
The Children and Families Services Division is committed to continuous quality improvement and appreciates the significant contribution that the Allied Health Professions workforce makes to service delivery and transformation. An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint to this key role.
The Allied Health Professional Lead is accountable for professionally leading the Allied Health Professionals within the Division and working closely with other Divisional leads to ensure quality and safety standards are achieved. At a time of great change, with new ways of working and new roles being implemented into the workforce, this is an exciting time to undertake this role leading on the strategic development of specific objectives of the division.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the division has robust structures, processes and systems in place to support a workforce that is fit for the future and that is competent and able to deliver safe, high quality services and excellent patient care.
You will provide professional leadership to the AHPs across the division supported by a senior management team. You will have the opportunity to influence broader strategic and operational planning working as part of the divisional leadership team and deputising for the Associate Chief of Nursing and Therapies. You will have opportunity to represent Allied Health Professionals within the Division participating in career and succession planning and leading on the future development of senior Allied Health Professionals.
You will understand what it takes to bring our clinical workforce together, and achieve results that will benefit our service users.
You will be a highly driven individual with experience of supporting transformation programmes. With highly developed communication and negotiation skills, you will motivate teams and inspire a culture of continuous improvement. You must have an understanding of community healthcare as well as knowledge of education and the workforce in a healthcare setting.

Person Specification Qualifications- BSc Honours degree (1st or 2nd class) in a relevant AHP Profession
- Masters in relevant specialist subject or equivalent
- Membership of relevant Professional Body
- Registered with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Evidence of appropriate CPD activities in management and clinical areas
- Significant clinical experience as an allied healthcare professional working in the community
- Significant clinical experience as an allied healthcare therapist across a range of clinical specialisms and an ability to apply expert clinical skills in a practice area using advanced clinical reasoning
- Experience of exercising a high degree of professional and clinical autonomy and a credible clinical leader
- Significant experience of influencing service change at local level
- Experience of influencing service change
- Sufficient breadth and depth of knowledge in therapy subject area to develop teaching and research programmes
- Through collaboration with other services/agencies at a strategic and operational level, including being used a source of expertise in strategic planning.
- High level of skill in leadership and innovation
- Ability to develop, manage and participate in professional and academic networks external to the Trust
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills
