Band 4 Medical Secretary Supervisor - Gastroenterology

Overview

We are excited to announce that we are looking for an experienced full‑time Band 4 Medical Secretary to work in the Gastroenterology department at Good Hope Hospital for 37.5 hours a week.

• Audio typing of clinics via the Dragon dictation system.
• Diary management, clinic cancellations and setting up of extra clinics.
• Monitoring results and providing the consultants with weekly results lists to report on.
• Looking at rotas and reorganising clinics due to ward weeks, on‑call, annual and study leave.
• Covering other secretaries’ phones when on leave, using a buddy system.

• Hardworking, methodical and good at audio typing.
• Strong communication skills, approachable and friendly.
• Experience working alongside an established team of medical secretaries.
• Enthusiastic, keen and eager to contribute to the Gastroenterology team.

This is a full‑time post and the successful candidate would be required to work core‑working hours from Monday to Friday. The role is full‑time and requires 37.5 hours per week.
