United Care Homes is looking for compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Support Workers to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in helping individuals live fulfilling and independent lives by providing day-to-day assistance, emotional support, and encouragement. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, empathetic, and passionate about making a difference in people’s lives.
You will be working with individuals in various settings, including their own homes, or in supported living facilities.
- Provide Personal and Practical Support: Assist clients with daily activities, including meal preparation, mobility, and other personal care tasks to maintain their comfort and dignity.
- Encourage Independence and Social Engagement: Support clients in participating in activities, building routines, and engaging in their communities to foster independence and well‑being.
- Administer Medication and Health Monitoring: Assist with administering prescribed medication and monitor clients’ health, reporting any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Emotional and Companionship Support: Build strong, positive relationships with clients, offering companionship, empathy, and understanding to enhance their mental and emotional well‑being.
- Assist with Household Tasks: Help with light housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning and laundry, ensuring clients have a safe and comfortable environment.
- Promote Safety and Well‑being: Follow health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe environment, promptly address any risks, and support clients’ physical and emotional safety.
- Document and Report Care
Activities:
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of daily activities, observations, and any concerns regarding the client’s health and welfare.
- Previous experience in a similar role or a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
- Relevant certifications or training in health and social care are an advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and communicate effectively.
- Compassionate, patient, and committed to providing high‑quality care.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings if needed.
