We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced receptionist to work in the Therapy Services Outpatient Department, which deals with over 300 outpatient appointments each day. We are looking for a flexible, motivated and professional individual with a pleasant manner and "can do" approach to join our team. You should possess commitment to team working and innovative delivery of excellent standards of work.
Applicants should have a good standard of education, keyboard skills, office procedures, excellent communication skills, and ability to work in a very busy and often pressurised environment. Experience of working in the NHS is desirable, however full training will be given. In return we can offer you a challenging role with the opportunity to make a valuable contribution in the delivery of a patient-focused service.

Hours:
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, to cover Department opening hours, 7:45 -- 17:00, e.g. 7:45 -- 15:45, 8:00 -- 16:00 or 9:00 -- 17:00

Main duties of the jobThe role will include a variety of tasks from answering the telephone and greeting patients to a range of admin tasks within the department. You will be the first point of contact for patients attending the Therapy Services Outpatient Department. The Main duties of the job are:
* To provide an efficient and effective frontline clinic reception service, to ensure that patients, staff and visitors are greeted correctly.
* To receive and direct all visitors in a pleasant, tactful and understanding manner, while ensuring that the patient s overall experience is of the
best in care.
* Obtain information from staff, patients and relatives in order to assist with their enquires.
* Complete requested electronical clinical outcomes and appointments on the PAS system and other IT systems.
* Deal with patient queries and telephone enquiries in a professional, courteous and informative manner, and liaise with Therapists and other

- * Good General Education (e.g. GCSE English and Maths A-C) GCSE Level 9-4
- * Experience of dealing with the Public/Customer service experience
- * Experience of working with a range of Microsoft Office packages (eg. Word, Excel and Outlook)
- * Experience of using IT systems
- * Experience of working in a busy office / customer care environment
- * Experience of working in Healthcare
- * Good communication / customer care skills both written and verbal demonstrating sympathy and compassion
