Are you an experienced Band 7 Occupational Therapist looking for your next leadership opportunity within a specialist inpatient setting?
We are recruiting for an experienced Occupational Therapy Team Manager to join a highly regarded NHS service supporting adults with complex mental health, learning disability and forensic needs. This is an excellent opportunity to lead an established Occupational Therapy team while maintaining a specialist clinical caseload and contributing to service development.
The RoleAs the Occupational Therapy Team Manager, you will provide both clinical expertise and operational leadership, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred Occupational Therapy services across specialist inpatient settings.
Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will support individuals with complex needs to maximise independence, improve functional outcomes and achieve meaningful occupational goals.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a specialist caseload of patients with complex occupational therapy needs.
- Complete comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments and formulate evidence-based treatment plans.
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred interventions tailored to individual goals.
- Undertake functional and occupational assessments to identify strengths, barriers and therapeutic priorities.
- Work collaboratively with patients, families, carers and multidisciplinary professionals.
- Deliver Occupational Therapy across inpatient and community settings where required.
- Provide clinical leadership within the Occupational Therapy service.
- Coordinate day-to-day service delivery, workload management and resource allocation.
- Supervise, mentor and support junior Occupational Therapists, assistants and support staff.
- Lead on service development, quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to effective multidisciplinary communication.
- Support safeguarding, risk management and safe clinical practice.
- Participate in clinical governance, appraisal and continuing professional development activities.
- HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- Previous experience within mental health, learning disability, forensic or complex inpatient services.
- Experience managing a clinical caseload involving complex presentations.
- Strong understanding of recovery-focused and person-centred Occupational Therapy practice.
- Previous experience supervising or leading junior staff.
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
