£12.85 per hour (£30,069 per year based on a 45-hour contract) + £50 per sleep-in shift

About the role

We're looking for a dedicated and attentive Male Support Worker to join our team in Birmingham (B17), supporting a gentleman in his 30s with a learning disability, autism and epilepsy.

Working as part of a dedicated 2:1 support team
, you'll help him live a rich and meaningful life while providing consistent support that is tailored to his needs. Positive Behaviour Support training will be provided, alongside ongoing guidance from an experienced team.

He enjoys:

  • Sensory activities and sensory rooms
  • Walks in the local community
  • Trips to cafés and carveries
  • Visiting parks and feeding ducks
  • Exploring new interests and experiences
  • Developing confidence through new opportunities such as swimming, cinema visits and days out

He has a fantastic sense of humour and enjoys spending time with people who are positive, patient and willing to get involved.

Support includes personal care, meal preparation, medication administration and helping him follow routines that promote wellbeing and independence. Family members are very involved and play an important role in his life, working closely with the support team.

Shifts are typically worked as long days with sleep-ins and involve continuous 2:1 support.

About you

You'll be a great fit if you're:

  • A strong communicator with a clear and consistent approach
  • Confident working as part of a close-knit team
  • Proactive and able to identify opportunities to improve quality of life
  • Comfortable supporting behaviours of distress
  • Happy to take part in activities, including swimming
  • A manual driver with a full UK driving licence

Experience is beneficial, but full training will be provided for the right person who shares our values and willingness to learn.
