Company:
Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS foundation Trust

An exciting full-time opportunity has arisen to join our clinically-focussed team, based at West Heath Hospital, for a 12 month period to cover maternity leave for the current postholder.

As a clinical pharmacist Pharmacist you will specialise in Elderly Care, joining our small, friendly team of Pharmacists and Technicians providing medicines optimisation support and advice to our adult in-patient wards. We endeavour to provide excellent clinical input on the wards, working efficiently as part of the wider clinical team where good working relationships are key.

There will be opportunities to use your prescribing skills and be involved in Consultant-led ward rounds as appropriate.

Newly qualified candidates will be considered for this role, where you will be encouraged to develop your clinical and prescribing skills.

We are looking for a friendly, dedicated and motivated Pharmacist to join us and help shape quality improvements for our well-respected department.

Working alongside clinical colleagues you will be integrated into the ward teams, attending multidisciplinary meetings and Consultant-led ward rounds to support the pharmaceutical needs of patients under your care.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to prioritise your time efficiently and have the ability to show initiative as well as work under pressure. You will show attention to detail and accuracy in your work.

Daily duties will involve working on the wards reviewing prescriptions as well as dispensary duties. We are a small team and contributing to dispensing, checking and clinical work will be expected.

Please ensure you check your Trac account regularly as this is how we will communicate with you during the shortlisting and selection process.

For details, please refer to the Job Description and Person Specification.

This is a 12 month post to cover maternity leave and will be clinically focussed with ward and dispensary-based duties.
