Quality and Risk Manager
Location:
The Harborne Hospital, Birmingham Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Permanent

We’re looking for an experienced Quality and Risk Manager to join our Governance team based at The Harborne Hospital.
As the Quality and Risk Manager, you will lead on the implementation and delivery of a range of governance activities with a particular focus on risk, incidents and complaint investigations, whilst supporting The Harborne Hospital to meet the regulatory requirements of external standards and inspections.
The ideal candidate will be a specialist resource, using knowledge and experience of governance, with a particular focus on incident, complaint and risk management. This will include managing and coordinating investigations and learning responses of all incidents, which involves liaising with Heads of Department and the Senior Leadership Team.
Excellent communication and a proven ability to implement change, or new systems, are essential for the role. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and be experienced in clinical governance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibility for overseeing and implementing the incident management processes and applying the principles of PSIRF. This includes monitoring action plans and quality improvement work
To create and present reports to relevant Hospital committees, including trend analysis and advice for key stakeholders
Implementation and monitoring of the facility-wide Audit Programme including working with Heads of Department (HoD) to develop robust action plans that provide improvements to care and service delivered
Work with the HCA UK Corporate Clinical Services Department and local Heads of Departments (HoD) to ensure a standardised approach to CQC inspection compliance is maintained
Act as the Policy Controller and direct the policy reviewer where needed.
Responsibility for overseeing and implementing the risk management processes, including regular reviews of the departmental and facility risk register
Skills and experience:
Knowledge of developing and embedding governance frameworks
Knowledge of CQC inspection and other healthcare accreditations frameworks
Previous experience and knowledge of governance, incident & risk management and quality improvement
Good IT skills including Excel, Word, Microsoft Office Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written, including good presentation skills
