Start DateAugust, with weekend sessions running through to December, with the possibility of extension thereafter.
Consultant Neurophysiologiststo provide weekend support.
Role OverviewThe successful candidates will undertake:
EMG (Electromyography) and Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS)- Standard, extended, and specialist neurophysiology investigations
- Reporting of all studies performed
- Routine reports to be completed within 24 hours
- Urgent cases to be reported within 24 hours
Reports will be submitted directly to the Trust via a University Hospitals Birmingham NHS email account, which will be provided following onboarding.
Activity21 patient appointments per day
, including NDASs covered in the daily rate. (pateint per day can be negotiated)
Saturdays and Sundays: 3-session day with staff arriving at 08:00
. The first patient will be booked at 08:30
, with scheduled breaks at 12:30 and 16:30
. The final patient appointment will conclude at 19:00
.
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Inclusion on the Specialist Register in Clinical Neurophysiology, or an equivalent specialty with significant Neurophysiology experience
- Appropriate medical indemnity covering Neurophysiology practice
- Relevant consultant-level experience in EMG and NCS investigations
Equipment and Machine will be provided on site.
Administration & Follow-Up- Referrals are primarily new GP referrals
- Follow-up appointments are rare but, where required, would be managed by the service provider
- Administrative time is incorporated within appointment scheduling
No formal training is required prior to commencing work.
IT account setup takes approximately 48 hours. Clinicians will need to attend site briefly prior to their first shift to activate accounts.
