Background

To carry out the administrative aspects of the University’s immigration processes for staff. This will require the post holder to support the provision of advice to the University community in managing compliance with sponsor duties, supporting the development of systems and processes to enhance compliance and ensuring that appropriate documentation is obtained and effectively retained.

Role Summary

To provide proactive administrative support in the Central Staff Hub, as part of the Immigration Compliance team. You will have the ability to manage your work without needing to refer to others for most of your time. You will be able to develop a wide range of skills, both technical and administrative, and may also have the opportunity to lead on specific tasks within the Immigration Compliance team.

Duties
  • You will act as first point of contact to provide accurate and timely information and advice to internal and external customers and stakeholders on University processes and procedures relating to immigration compliance for staff, answering queries promptly, providing guidance, documentation and resolving queries from initial contact to resolution. This will include recognising when queries need to be referred elsewhere or escalated.
  • To ensure that right to work checks are carried out and appropriate action taken within UKVI time frames and guidelines.
  • Regularly communicate relevant information to colleagues, staff and external contacts.
  • Provide administrative support for diary or event planning.
  • Process data (which may be financial, HR, student-related or other), monitoring accuracy, in line with immigration policy, chasing up missing information, and…
