HR Manager

Here at GXO, we’re looking for an experienced HR Manager to join us on our WH Smith contract. You’ll manage the HR Operations across Warehouse and Transport in Birmingham and a transport out base in Milton Keynes. You will lead the on-site HR presence and provide efficient and effective support to the site operational teams using digital HR techniques to align culture, talent, structure and processes.

This is a full time, permanent position, and the hours of work are Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00, however should you prefer there is the option to work 08:30 – 16:30 or 09:00 – 17:00.

You’ll be paid a salary of up to £50,000 per annum, you’ll also receive 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days so you can enjoy a positive work-life balance. • Ensure that the site HR team provide a consultancy and advisory service to managers on matters of discipline, grievance and performance improvement, whilst embedding the GXO values and commitments
• Facilitate harmonious employee relations with the site teams and respective trade union representatives to ensure optimum working efficiency within the operation
• Provide full HR generalist support and advice to managers and employees - ensuring a current knowledge of employee legislation and employee relations issues is maintained to ensure the business area remains compliant and risk is mitigated
• Lead, coach and develop the HR and Payroll team; responsible for all people processes during the lifecycle of an employee.

• Proven experience in a similar HR management role, within a fast paced and dynamic logistics environment
• Excellent people management skills with the ability to build and maintain credible and strong professional relationships at all levels
• Be an effective influencer and communicator, able to positively engage and empower others
• Be adaptable and able to work within a rapidly changing environment
• CIPD Level 5 qualified/part qualified or studying towards
