Head of Data and Analytics

Hays are working with a client to provide capacity in the short term for a Head of Data and Analytics, within a newly formed Directorate.

Expected duration is approximately 4 months.
This is an excellent opportunity to lead the initial stage of a data transformation journey. We are looking for an exceptional individual that combines strong technical expertise with excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
The interim post holder will develop a detailed picture of the current state of data and analytics across the organisation and develop a set of proposals for consideration by the Corporate Leadership Team.

The work of the post holder will enable our client to maintain momentum on critical work that will shape longer-term plans and set us up for success. You will have a transparent, inclusive and strengths-based approach.
You will work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation to:

Develop and facilitate a Data Maturity Assessment across the company.
Map existing data capacity and capability across the organisation
Map current data projects and how they interrelate
Understand the opportunities presented by existing "single view" projects
Expected outputs:

Produce a clear analysis and prioritised options appraisal for Corporate Leadership Team consideration, including a high-level programme plan for delivery over the medium term
Produce an analysis of the current workforce vs future workforce skills needs relating to data, based on the maturity assessment and mapping
Essential criteria:

Experience of gathering and synthesising requirements from a large range of stakeholders and from multiple sources, to develop clear, evidenced, business cases
Experience in leading data / digital transformation and improving data maturity within a complex organisation
Able to quickly get to grips with a range of technology / projects and understand interdependencies
Able to simplify complex material for a range of audiences, with good interpersonal and written communication skills.
Able to quickly build effective, credible working relationships at all levels, internally and externally.
Able to focus sharply on crucial issues, prioritise effectively and ensure quality, timely delivery of agreed outputs
Able to use influencing, persuading and negotiation skills to drive engagement
