Position: Splunk Site Reliability Engineer / Migration Specialist (Contract to Hire)

Overview

Splunk Site Reliability Engineer / Migration Specialist (Contract to Hire) – Birmingham (Hybrid) | Rate: £280/day

Are you a Splunk expert ready to take on a migration challenge to ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)? We’re seeking a hands-on Splunk SRE / Migration Specialist who can lead and execute the migration of dashboards, alerts, and configurations while keeping business-critical systems running smoothly.

Responsibilities
  • Drive the migration from Splunk to Elasticsearch (ELK Stack) – dashboards, alerts, saved searches & more.
  • Collaborate with Elastic teams to set up alerting & monitoring via Kibana, Watcher, or third-party tools.
  • Manage Splunk infrastructure across production & non-production environments.
  • Troubleshoot incidents, perform upgrades, and handle change requests.
  • Oversee patching, vulnerability remediation, and ensure compliance.
  • Keep documentation & best practices up to date.
  • Work closely with SRE & Application teams to resolve issues quickly.
Qualifications
  • Proven expertise with Splunk and Elasticsearch (ELK Stack).
  • Hands-on skills in Docker, Kubernetes, and scripting (Python/Shell).
  • Strong Linux/Unix and networking background.
  • Experience in large-scale monitoring tools & Dev Ops/SRE practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Degree in Computer Science (or related) + industry certifications (Splunk Engineer is a plus).
