Job Overview
We have a great job opportunity at nGeneration for a Project Technician / Engineer. This role requires diagnosing and fixing hardware and configuration issues, repairing devices, and excellent client interaction skills.
LocationBirmingham and surrounding area, with UK-wide travel and possible overnight stays.
Responsibilities- Conduct daily visits to client locations for break‑fix installation, refurbishing, and maintenance of EPoS equipment, chip and pin devices, tablets, digital menu boards, media screens, kitchen management systems, routers, Wi‑Fi, and other related IT equipment.
- Provide on‑site equipment swap‑out services to minimise client downtime.
- Setup Wi‑Fi devices and troubleshoot faults with data network cables on site.
- Resolve hardware, software, or technical issues during site visits, escalating to appropriate teams when necessary.
- Document troubleshooting steps, obtain client sign‑off, and close tasks.
- 1 year of IT support experience (preferred).
- 1 year of EPoS experience (preferred).
- Experience installing, integrating, and testing EPoS hardware and software or similar IT installations.
- Technical mindset with logical, methodical troubleshooting approach.
- Proven ability to identify faults with data network cables.
- Previous experience as an IT Network Engineer, Telecoms/ Broadband Engineer, especially in retail or hospitality industry (highly desirable).
- Clean Full UK Manual Driver's Licence (required).
- Willingness to travel 100 % of the time, daily to client sites.
£28,678 per annum (including On‑Call Supplement). Full‑time, permanent. 9.5‑hour shifts, Monday‑Friday, with flexibility for weekends and bank holidays as required.
