Manager, M&A Analytics – EY-Parthenon, Birmingham

At EY, we’re all in to shape your future with confidence. We’ll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go. Join EY and help to build a better working world.

The opportunity

At EY-Parthenon, our unique combination of transformative strategy, transactions, tax and corporate finance delivers real-world value — solutions that work in practice, not just on paper. Benefiting from EY’s full spectrum of services, we’ve reimagined strategic consulting to work in a world of increasing complexity. With deep functional and sector expertise, paired with innovative AI-powered technology and an investor mindset, we partner with CEOs, boards, private equity and governments every step of the way.

EY-Parthenon’s Transaction Analytics team helps clients use data to make better decisions at critical moments in the deal lifecycle. We work with private equity investors, corporates, management teams and other advisers on buy‑side, sell‑side, vendor assistance and exit readiness engagements.

Our work sits at the intersection of M&A, financial due diligence, commercial insight and advanced analytics. We turn complex financial, operational and commercial datasets into clear, robust analysis that supports the equity story, helps answer bidder and investor questions, and gives clients greater confidence in transaction decisions.

This is an opportunity to join our growing Birmingham Transaction Analytics team and help build a regional platform within one of the UK’s leading deal analytics practices.

Our core work is delivered during the high‑speed phases of an M&A process. We use data and analytics to assess a target company’s financial performance, business projections and key value drivers, identifying opportunities, risks, sensitivities and potential mitigations that can influence transaction outcomes.

The Transaction Analytics team works closely with Financial Due Diligence, Corporate Finance, Strategy, Tax and sector specialists to provide deeper insights, challenge value drivers and bring innovative digital capabilities to live deal situations. Our work includes building reconciled data cubes, dynamic databooks and dashboards that support vendor due diligence, commercial due diligence, information memoranda, management presentations and bidder Q&A.

Companies are collecting more data than ever before across finance, ERP, CRM, billing, operational and external sources. Our challenge is to use analytics at pace to identify and explain trends that may otherwise remain hidden — and to convert those insights into a clear transaction narrative.

Your

Key Responsibilities

As a Manager in the Transaction Analytics team, you will own the day‑to‑day delivery of analytics work streams on live M&A engagements. You will translate transaction hypotheses into practical analysis plans, manage junior team members, review analytical outputs, and work directly with clients and EY deal teams to ensure findings are robust, clearly documented and commercially relevant.

  • Lead day‑to‑day delivery of Transaction Analytics work streams across buy‑side, sell‑side, vendor assistance and exit readiness engagements.
  • Translate deal questions and value hypotheses into practical analytics workplans, prioritising analysis based on materiality, timeline and client need.
  • Manage Executives and Analysts, providing coaching, review and quality control across data preparation, modelling, dashboards and databooks.
  • Lead client discussions on data availability, data quality, analytical approach and emerging findings.
  • Build and review reconciled data cubes, dynamic databooks and dashboards that support due diligence, equity‑story development and bidder Q&A.
  • Coordinate with Financial Due Diligence, Corporate Finance, Strategy, Tax and sector teams to ensure joined‑up insights across work streams.
  • Review analysis of revenue, margin, customer, cohort, pricing, retention, site or project‑level performance and ensure outputs are clearly linked to the transaction narrative.
