Job description
Cyber Security Engineer, (Cloud Security Specialist) (108983) Locations:
Bristol, Birmingham or Manchester
As a result of the work that we do, we require applicants to hold or be capable of obtaining UK National Security Vetting, the requirements for which could include but not be limited to having resided in the UK for at least the past 5 years and being a UK national or dual UK national. We are seeking a skilled and experienced, client facing, Cyber Security Engineer with a strong focus on cloud security to join our security team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in securing multi-cloud environments, embedding in client teams to deliver robust protection across platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
This role requires hands‑on technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, Dev Ops, and security teams to embed security principles into cloud‑native architectures, with a working knowledge of Secure Architecture concepts.
Our team combines deep sector insight, expert consulting capabilities and trusted client relationships to design and implement solutions that span all aspects of our clients' operations. We become immersed in our clients' organisations, applying sector knowledge and technology solutions to deliver the best possible outcomes and get it right first time.
Operating from Birmingham, Bristol or Manchester we do work that matters, providing technical and advisory expertise to help our clients securely craft and deploy security control systems and operations technology.
What will you be doing?- Support projects, or work streams within a larger programme, consulting with Partners, Directors and Senior Managers where appropriate.
- Plan and shape the delivery of engagements, including work plans, timelines, project management and resource allocations.
- Provide input on security operations capabilities and services.
- Build and manage relationships with clients on a daily basis.
- Technical background, willingness to learn, and experience within an operationally focused engineering function.
- Experience bringing a technology perspective to a broad range of client issues, demonstrating how technology can be used to address problems and realise opportunities.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking and architecture principles, Identity and access management models, security monitoring and SIEM integration.
- Proven hands‑on experience of at least two cloud environments including:
- AWS
- Microsoft Azure
- VMware Cloud Foundation
- Google Cloud
- Experience securing multi‑cloud or hybrid environments, including greenfield and legacy platforms.
- Managing teams, including the ability to structure complex projects.
- Clear record of achievement and progression in a consulting firm or in a comparable environment within industry.
- Relevant cybersecurity certifications.
- Consulting experience within a 'Big 4' consultancy, or mid‑tier firm.
- Working knowledge of Secure By Design Requirements.

This position will largely be based within the Southwest of England and Manchester, with an expectation that the successful candidate will be able to work from client sites three or more days a week.
