IT System Technologist

Salary: £50,000 - 55,000 per year

• Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure
• Windows Server administration experience
• Experience supporting cloud technologies and infrastructure
• Knowledge of network services and systems administration
• Experience with IT security tools and security best practice
• Experience integrating and supporting interconnected business systems
• Experience delivering technical projects from planning through to completion
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical colleagues
• A proactive, problem‑solving approach and the ability to work well across different teams

• Manage and support Microsoft 365, Azure and Windows Server environments
• Support network infrastructure and ensure systems work seamlessly together
• Monitor the IT estate, identify issues early and resolve technical incidents
• Maintain secure, reliable and high-performing infrastructure
• Implement system and security policies to strengthen the overall environment
• Deliver infrastructure and systems projects alongside the Head of IT
• Work with third‑party suppliers to resolve technical issues and improve services
• Research and introduce new technologies that improve operational efficiency and security
• Produce and maintain clear technical documentation

We are a well‑established UK transport business at a pivotal point in our growth following a recent acquisition. We are investing heavily in our internal IT function and building a new team to support the next phase of the business. Based in Birmingham, this is a hybrid role with three days per week in the office. We offer a salary of £50,000 to £55,000, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, a company pension and life assurance, employee discounts, a Cycle to Work scheme, and Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing support.
