Description

The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of technical excellence in Legacy by undertaking technical audits and providing constructive feedback and mentoring to the file handling teams, identifying trends and training needs and supporting the technical development of our Legacy Lawyers.

The auditor will perform audits within the unit to:

  • Assess file handling performance against, and in line with, internal technical standards.
  • Identify recommended actions for the current file handling team and deliver constructive feedback to develop their technical skills.
  • Assist in bespoke file audits upon request of the unit Technical Directors and/or Business Unit Directors.
  • Provide feeding arising from client contractual Service Level Agreement (SLA) audits undertaken by others.
  • Identify and assess areas of financial leakage or other risks for the business.
  • Identify and communicate clear and constructive feedback and recommendations for remedial actions arising from your audit.
  • Prepare timely oral and written reports to the Technical Director/Operations Director on the audit findings of individuals, teams, and unit performance, along with recommendations within a clear and appropriate action plan to enhance technical ability and remedial action required.
  • Contribute to the continual development and improvement of Legacy’s technical performance levels by
    • Identifying common trends within audit findings.
    • Recommending and, where appropriate, contributing to training and upskilling of individuals.
    • Providing constructive feedback and mentoring to individuals or teams.
    • Identifying quality issues and providing technical input into the incident reporting process.
Key Responsibilities

Generic:

  • Familiarity with client guidelines and required service level agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with client SLA’s.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Identification of incorrect actions taken on files.
  • Trend analysis.
  • Writing reports.

Technical:

  • Reviewing documents and assessment of evidence in Military Deafness NIHL Claims.
  • Identification and assessment of strategy in Military Deafness Claims.
  • Identification and assessment of required investigative actions.
  • Reserving of NIHL Claims – to include Ogden.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Has an understanding of NIHL Claims (experience of military deafness claims is not essential).
  • Has experience of running a NIHL caseload.
  • Clear and effective communicator.
  • Ability to write reports.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to target.
  • Ability to self‑organise and self‑prioritise.
  • Ability to maintain concentration and pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to remain fair and objective at all times.
  • Good level of IT skills.

Due to the nature of this position, this role requires candidates to be a sole British National or dual national with one part being British, with no restrictions on working in the UK.
