The Role You'll conduct analysis across strategic, tactical, and operational levels, using analytical tools and techniques to identify patterns, trends, and gaps, and to inform decision-making, prioritisation, and resource allocation. You'll produce National Intelligence Model (NIM) compliant products and provide expert guidance to senior officers and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting analysis to assess threat, risk, and harm, and recommending courses of action Assisting in the development of intelligence collection plans Identifying tactical and strategic priorities using MoRILE Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of crime trends and intelligence relevant to the Force Advising senior officers on likely targets and pathways of resolution Providing complex evidential analysis and professional witness testimony in court Preparing briefing notes and delivering clear presentations to varied audiences Liaising with stakeholders across the Force and partner agencies Performing data quality dip samples and handling Secret-level information in line with GPMS guidance Producing analytical products that guide the proactive acquisition of intelligence and evidence What You'll Need Essential:
Degree-level qualification in a relevant subject, or equivalent experience Experience collating, evaluating, and structuring data to identify patterns and discrepancies Ability to use software packages for charting and analytical preparation Strong Microsoft Office skills, with advanced Excel ability Good understanding of the National Intelligence Model (NIM) Understanding of relevant legislation, including ECHR, RIPA, and Data Protection Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail Strong communication, influencing, and presentation skills Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team Desirable:
Experience as an Intelligence Analyst within a law enforcement agency Knowledge of current crime trends and policing policy issues
