As a Enterprise Architect x2 at HS2 you will have a key role in developing, designing, implementing, and governing HS2’s Enterprise Architecture to ensure technology’s alignment with business objectives.

About the role:

* Develops and implements enterprise-wide architecture principles, policies, patterns, processes and guardrails to embed the strategic application of change across HS2, ensuring compliance between business strategies, enterprise transformation activities and technology directions.
* Creates and reviews an enterprise capability strategy to support HS2’s strategic requirements.
* Defines and supports continued maturity of agile Enterprise Architecture frameworks and influences the development and implementation strategic domain architectures (Data, Security, Network, Integration etc.).
* Captures and prioritises of market and environmental trends, business strategies and objectives, in order to ensure alignment with HS2’s technology strategy and roadmap.
* Develops architectural artefacts in line with strategy, policy and standards.
* Supports the translation of business drivers, goals and constraints into business objectives.
* Upholds and enforces architecture guardrails across solution and system design and across the different architecture domains (network, service, data etc.).
* Contributes expertise and ideas to the technology innovation agenda.
* Supports Business Analysts in the capture of requirements.
* Supports delivery of IT change across the business providing direction and support to Delivery Managers.
* Actively promotes and embeds Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all work, and supports and complies with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.

About You:

Skills
* Enterprise and business architecture. Ability to support the translation of business drivers, goals and constraints into business objectives. Work independently to define required capabilities that meet business objectives.
* Governance and assurance. Ability to understand technical governance and participate in the assurance of a service.
* Problem definition and shaping. Ability to show awareness of the strategic context of the work and why it is important. Support strategic planning.
* Agile working. Ability to coach and lead teams in Agile and Lean practices.
* Stakeholder communication. Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels and manage stakeholder expectations.

Knowledge
* Knowledge of agile methods and their implications for Enterprise Architecture.
* Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, methodologies, and best practices, such as TOGAF or Zachman Framework.
* Knowledge of architecture principles, patterns, and their application within an organisation.
