London The Opportunity A leading independent London Market insurance broker is looking to appoint an experienced Account Handler to join its established North American Special Risks team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected brokerage with a strong international presence, working alongside experienced brokers on a varied portfolio of US Property and Delegated Authority business.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the placement and administration of Binding Authority business, working closely with brokers, insurers and Coverholders to ensure the efficient handling of risks and delivery of exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities Prepare, review and process Binding Authority Agreements (BAAs) and associated endorsements. Liaise with Coverholders and insurers to obtain agreement and ensure all documentation is completed accurately. Maintain and validate broker system records and ensure Cover holder compliance requirements are met. Calculate and process Profit Commissions where applicable. Support brokers with the binding and issuance of policies in accordance with delegated underwriting authorities.
Prepare and issue client documentation within agreed service standards. Build strong working relationships with brokers, insurers, Coverholders and other key stakeholders. Produce and monitor monthly risk data, exposure reports and aggregate information, highlighting any significant changes. Work closely with operational teams to ensure the prompt processing and settlement of premiums. Maintain accurate records and identify opportunities to improve reporting and operational processes.
Requirements Previous experience within the London Market, ideally supporting North American Property or Delegated Authority business. Strong understanding of Lloyd's and Company Market processes. Knowledge of Binding Authorities, Coverholders and Delegated Authority administration. Experience working with US Property risks would be highly advantageous. Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, including Pivot Tables and the ability to analyse large datasets. Excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to work closely with brokers, insurers and Coverholders. Knowledge of US regulatory requirements is beneficial. CII qualified, or currently working towards Cert CII, Dip CII or ACII, would be advantageous.
