The Claims department plays a crucial role in our business, handling claims whilst striving for the best customer experience in the UK insurer market. A day in the life of the Claims Handler will be extremely varied, one day you could be helping a customer solve a problem. The next you could be using your amazing listening skills to ensure your customer receives the best advice.
Youwill be responsible for:
- Delivering a first-class experience to customers to get their claims dealt with quickly
- Managing activity on all relevant aspects of claims to maximise cost control and to negotiate the optimum claim settlement
- You will start by managing new claim registrations (– FNOL/First Notification of Loss of Motor claims/Third Party claims) ensuring that all new claims are registered in accordance with specific service level agreements.
- Then instruct relevant suppliers/investigators at the outset of claim, validating policy cover, ensuring clauses, warranties and endorsements are considered, making an accurate liability assessment to manage customer expectations.
- Throughout you will proactively and professionally communicate with our customers and colleagues to manage expectations and achieve the most appropriate outcome, simultaneously managing insurer relationships to the highest standard.
Ideally, you will have a minimum of 12 months experience in a claim handling role, managing preferably a defendant or insurer caseload, as well as the below skills:
- Previous involvement using MOJ and OIC Portal's would be advantageous, but not essential.
- The ability to operate under pressure.
- Able to assist clients in a clear, concise, friendly, and efficient way
- High level customer service skills
