Howden, the new name for Aston Lark, is building a global collective of talented people. We support clients through the complex landscape of commercial risk, crafting bespoke solutions to help businesses navigate uncertainty and grow. This role is a full-time, permanent position; you will ideally be onsite in our Midlands region for 2/3 days per week on average.

• Manage end-to-end claims process regardless of size, including larger, complex or contentious claims arising with brokerage clients from investigation, evaluation, negotiation to settlement
• Utilise knowledge of insurance policies, coverage types, and claims procedures to assess and adjudicate claims within timelines and guidelines
• Collaborate with internal departments, external vendors and other stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient resolution
• Analyse claims data, identify trends and develop strategies to mitigate risk and improve claims management processes
• Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring to the Claims Handler and junior team members
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, insurers, loss adjusters/assessors and industry partners to enhance customer satisfaction
• Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes and emerging technologies
• Prepare and present reports and presentations with key performance indicators
• Visit clients during a loss to investigate circumstances and build a robust claim for a swift, favourable conclusion
• Negotiate with insurers to obtain favourable settlement terms within policy terms
• Act as an advocate for the claims function and settlements

• Strong understanding of insurance policies, coverage types and claims procedures (essential)
• Brokerage experience (essential)
• Understanding of general and legal principles of insurance
• Understanding of relevant regulatory and legal frameworks

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills (essential)
• Outstanding communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills (essential)

• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
• A levels (desirable)
• BDMA certificate
