Research Analyst – Legal Insights | Birmingham

A leading organisation within the legal intelligence and research sector is seeking a Research Analyst to join their Insight team

The company’s Insight division plays a vital role in shaping how law firms understand their performance, competitive position, and opportunities for growth within the international legal market. The successful candidate will contribute to this mission by transforming complex research findings into clear, actionable insights for clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse and interpret both qualitative and quantitative data gathered by the company’s research division.
  • Produce detailed written reports that explain and contextualise law firm rankings, offering valuable feedback and strategic recommendations.
  • Craft well-written, concise, and engaging commentary for each section of assigned reports, ensuring clarity and professionalism throughout.
  • Conduct comparative market analysis to highlight trends, competitor performance, and emerging opportunities in specific legal markets.
  • Collaborate with managers and senior analysts to ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality across all deliverables.
  • Occasionally participate in research rotations, conducting interviews with clients and legal professionals to gather first-hand market intelligence.
Skills and Experience
  • Strong analytical ability to interpret data and draw logical, evidence-based conclusions.
  • Excellent writing skills with the capacity to produce clear, concise, and well-structured reports.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, particularly in handling and presenting data accurately.
  • Ability to summarise findings effectively and present them in an accessible, client-friendly manner.
  • Proficiency in following editorial guidelines and maintaining consistent tone and style across reports.
  • Intellectual curiosity and an interest in understanding the dynamics of the global legal market.
