Duty Solicitor

Position: Duty Solicitor (Permanent)
Service Care Solutions is working alongside a highly regarded law firm, based in the Birmingham area, which is seeking a qualified and experienced Criminal Duty Solicitor to manage a varied caseload of criminal matters, including police station attendances, Magistrates’ Court advocacy, and general criminal defence work.

Role:
Criminal Duty Solicitor
Salary: £45,000 to £50,000

Location:

Birmingham

Key Responsibilities of the Duty Solicitor role:

Represent clients at police stations, Magistrates’ Courts and, where appropriate, Crown Courts.
Provide accurate and timely legal advice and advocacy to clients.
Contribute to the growth of the department through your own client following or business development, if applicable.

Requirements:

2+ years of PQE in Criminal law as a qualified Solicitor in England and Wales.
Current accreditation as a Duty Solicitor (LAA Crime Category 1 Supervisor status desirable but not essential).
Willingness to work out-of-hours duty slots on a rota basis, including evenings and weekends.
