Senior Legal Counsel; Commercial Birmigham; in office

A prominent national law firm is looking for a motivated and commercially minded Senior Legal Counsel (Commercial) to join its In-house Legal Counsel team in Birmingham on a 12-month FTC
. Reporting to the Head of Legal, you’ll provide high-level legal expertise, lead complex work streams, and act as a trusted adviser across the firm.
This is an In-House opportunity

What you’ll do:

• Lead, draft, negotiate, and oversee complex agreements and commercial work streams.
• Advise on contracts, technology, and data protection/privacy matters.
• Identify legal risks and propose pragmatic solutions aligned with business strategy.
• Supervise and mentor junior lawyers, paralegals, and trainees.
• Support governance, compliance, and continuous process improvements.

Who you are:

• Qualified lawyer with 8years PQE experience.
• Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and solutions-focused mindset.
• Autonomous, proactive, and able to communicate complex legal issues clearly.
• Experienced in commercial contracts, technology, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborative, adaptable, and detail-oriented.
• Influence high-impact initiatives in a growing legal function.
