Role Summary
Permanent Food Porter in Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (Highcroft Site, Fentham Road, Erdington, Birmingham, B23 6AL
).
Hours:
37.5 hours per week, 08:00–14:30 Monday‑Friday. Occasional bank holiday and overtime may be required.
Salary: £13.45 per hour. A full driving licence is essential.
Responsibilities- Take delivery of food to designated freezer store.
- Check delivery against order.
- Pick and pack ward menu orders from menus.
- Deliver the food to the designated wards.
- Stock rotation.
- Take delivery weekly of laundry.
- Pick and pack laundry on designated days.
- Deliver the laundry to wards.
- Perform other ad‑hoc porter duties, including clinical waste collections and furniture moves.
- Full driving licence (essential).
- Previous porter experience.
- Previous warehouse/stores experience.
- Good time management skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new skills.
- Flexible and self‑motivated.
- Resilient and reliable.
- Flexible attitude to a changing environment to achieve business goals.
