Your new company
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Inventory & Asset Control Manager to join a transformation-focused supply chain function. This is a high-impact role where you'll drive inventory accuracy, strengthen governance, optimise asset utilisation, and deliver improvements that reduce cost, risk, and waste across the business. This is a high-profile interim role for 3-6 months with hybrid working with 3 days per week in the office.
Your new role
As Inventory & Asset Control Manager, you will take ownership of inventory governance, control processes, and asset recovery activities. Working across operational, finance, and supply chain teams, you will ensure stock integrity, improve visibility, and maximise the value of existing assets.
Key responsibilities include:
Establishing and maintaining accurate inventory records across multiple locations and systems
Developing controls for stock movements, reconciliations, adjustments, and cycle-counting activities
Leading investigations into inventory discrepancies and implementing corrective actions
Driving asset recovery, reuse, refurbishment, recycling, and obsolescence programmes
Prioritising redeployment of existing stock before new purchases are made
Managing inventory-related risk, compliance, audit requirements, and financial controls
Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners to improve inventory performance and governance
This role offers the opportunity to shape best practice, improve operational performance, and influence strategic decision-making.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you'll bring:
Significant experience in inventory control, asset management, or supply chain operations
Strong knowledge of stock control, reconciliations, audit processes, and root-cause analysis
Experience managing returns, asset recovery, refurbishment, or obsolescence programmes
Good understanding of inventory valuation, working capital, and financial controls
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify improvement opportunities
Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to work across multiple business functions
Experience with inventory improvement programmes, asset lifecycle management, or stock governance frameworks would be advantageous.
What you'll get in return
In return, you'll join a business that is investing in its supply chain capability and offers the opportunity to make a visible impact. Benefits include:
A strategic role with autonomy and influence
Exposure to large-scale inventory and asset optimisation initiatives
Opportunities to drive cost savings, efficiency improvements, and risk reduction
A collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence
