Monday – Friday 9am – 6pm (Flexibility may be offered).

The Maintenance Operative plays a critical function, ensuring the smooth running of operational building facilities. This is a customer-facing environment where you will be responsible for maintaining Vita Student’s highest building standards.
Responsibilities- Respond to maintenance requests, promptly addressing student and staff reports of issues with plumbing, electrical, heating/cooling, lighting, furniture, and other equipment.
- Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
- Conduct regular inspections of residence facilities to identify potential issues and perform scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Carry out general repairs, such as fixing leaky plumbing, broken fixtures, damaged doors, and wall repairs.
- Perform minor tasks like replacing flooring, repairing furniture, and touch‑up painting and decorating.
- Maintain ground works and upkeep of outdoor areas such as grass cutting and hedge trimming/shaping.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures when performing maintenance tasks.
- Experience delivering preventive and corrective fire alarm and firefighting system maintenance.
- Skilled across a variety of maintenance functions.
- Well‑versed in delivering Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) within a similar environment.
- Demonstrable understanding and adherence to safety compliance regulations and procedures.
- IT literate.
- Ability to thrive in a multi‑cultural environment; welcome colleagues and residents from all over the world.
- Excellent communication skills. English is the primary spoken language; multilingual skills are warmly welcomed.
- Strong organisational and leadership qualities with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Adaptability, creativity and positivity.
- Resilience and ability to effectively navigate unexpected situations.
- Ability to carry out tasks that may involve extended periods of standing and repetitive movements, with reasonable adjustments considered where required.
Annual Bonus
:
Calculated & rewarded subject to achieving targets set against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

:
Holidays are paid on a pro‑rata basis reflective of hours worked. Customer Service Assistants will receive 28 days paid holiday including England & Wales Bank Holidays, pro‑rata.
