Working Hours: Shift pattern (Monday to Friday):
- Early Shift: 5:45am – 1:30pm
- Late Shift: 10:30am – 6:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
About the RoleWe are seeking a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to join a busy and welcoming school in Small Heath. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong maintenance and site management skills who takes pride in creating a safe, secure, and well-maintained environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the school site, ensuring that the premises remain safe, compliant, and fully operational at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the security, maintenance, and general upkeep of the school premises.
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs.
- Maintain school buildings and grounds to a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and presentation.
- Assist with the preparation and set-up of rooms and facilities for school events and activities.
- Respond promptly to maintenance issues to minimise disruption to the school day.
- Support health and safety compliance across the site.
- Previous experience in a caretaker, facilities, site management, or maintenance role.
- Good practical skills with the ability to carry out a range of minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Sound understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- Reliable, organised, and proactive approach to work.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- An Enhanced DBS check is required.
- Available to start immediately.
