Chase Taylor Recruitment are working on behalf of a leading manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Multi‑Skilled Engineer with both mechanical and electrical expertise.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer from an industrial manufacturing environment, ideally with experience in extrusion or plastics manufacturing. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining, optimising and continuously improving production equipment to maximise efficiency, reliability and performance.
We’re looking for someone with a proactive approach, strong fault‑finding skills and a passion for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across a range of production and plant equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime.
- Support the optimisation and continuous improvement of extrusion lines and associated machinery.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
- Assist with the installation, commissioning and upgrading of production equipment.
- Identify opportunities to improve machinery performance, reliability and manufacturing processes.
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed in accordance with health, safety and environmental standards.
- Work closely with production teams to maximise equipment availability and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
Essential
- Proven experience as a Multi‑Skilled Engineer within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience working with PLCs, motors, drives and electrical control systems.
- Good understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics and automated machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
- Good IT skills, including experience using CMMS or maintenance management systems.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills with a proactive and practical approach.
Desirable
- Experience with in extrusion or plastics manufacturing.
- Knowledge of internal water systems and industrial chiller systems.
- Understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) legislation and best practices.
- Positive, proactive and self‑motivated.
- Strong commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
- Reliable with an excellent work ethic.
- Flexible and adaptable within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
- Team player with effective communication skills.
- Keen to develop professionally and contribute to business improvements.
