We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of People Business Consultant Team Lead.

As a key member of the UK People Business Consultancy team your thought leadership and creativity will enable HSBC to accelerate its people strategy and enable our colleagues and teams to thrive. You will shape, create, and deliver projects and campaigns that will connect our people with our purpose. No day will be the same, you will have a diverse portfolio with a variety of stakeholders across People and the broader business with the ability to collaborate with People specialists across areas like Learning, Reward, Talent, and Recruitment to deliver market leading people solutions.

Your project management and critical thinking skills will be key to helping with the design and delivery of innovative people initiatives, whilst your ability to harness data and analytics will be instrumental in your approach. In this role you will:
  • Lead a team of consultants to deliver across a broad portfolio of work, driving high performance and acting as a key contact point for our businesses and customers.
  • Manage project delivery proactively balancing scope, schedule, interdependencies, budget, and risks where applicable.
  • Effectively manage complex relationships and drive high engagement with internal stakeholders across both People and the broader business.
  • Be responsible for effective project controls and procedures.
  • Report progress, issues, dependencies, and risks to relevant governance forums and make recommendations to influence decision making.
  • Be able to effectively communicate and demonstrate how People projects connect the people strategy with the broader business strategy.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
  • Extensive experience of people consulting, HR, change and project management at a high level.
  • Leadership - experience in leading teams to deliver individual and shared outcomes, supporting development and driving high-performance.
  • Project management - delivery of people projects from scoping through to post implementation review.
  • Campaign management - ability to take a concept from ideation through to development and delivery.
  • Stakeholder management - ideally across a complex, matrixed organisation.
  • Influencing skills - ability to establish trust and credibility at pace.
  • Flexibility, tenacity, and resilience - when dealing with business demands and high-levels of ambiguity.
  • Calm under pressure - ability to re-prioritise in very short timescales.
  • Data analysis - use of multiple data sources to make decisions and tell compelling stories.
