Overview
Equans is looking for an Assistant Estates Manager - Fabric to join our team based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, there is also an on call rota. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
The role is vital to ensure that the estate is maintained to a high compliant standard and that all statutory requirements are fully complied with and documented for all services and facilities under the control of the contract. This role will ensure that the services are delivered 24/7 as part of the site estates engineering management team.
What will you deliver?- Work in collaboration with the estates management team to provide an efficient and cohesive service across the Estate
- Direct management of the Fabric dayshift team, ensuring performance against FM contract requirements, with work carried out in line with good industry practice
- Ensuring that all staff and subcontractors “Response and Rectification” times are met, and repairs are undertaken diligently, with due care and without undue delay
- Where there is risk of failure to achieve SLAs swiftly intervene and resolve via “recall to work” procedure for emergency repairs as required
- Managing and resolving incidents of non-compliance across the Estate in line with Contract and Company Requirements
- Managing, directing, and assisting staff in a safe and efficient manner
- Manage absence and utilisation within the team effectively ensuring the rota is covered as necessary
- Responsible for first line management with regards to all Equans Human Resource and Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
- Participation in the out of hours on call rota

- Building Qualification in either
- City & Guilds Carpentry/Joinery Level 2 & 3
- City & Guilds Building/Bricklaying Level 2 & 3
- Relevant City & Guilds Building related qualifications
- Building services engineering National Certificate
- IWFM management course (Desirable)
- HNC/HND in a relevant area (Desirable)
- Additional AP including; HTM-05 related fire training, Fire door specialist training/understanding, Mechanical Systems, Confined Spaces (Desirable)
- MEWP Training IPAF (Desirable)
- IOSH/NEBOSH/NEBOSH Fire (Desirable)
- Driving licence
This role includes a DBS Standard check therefore ability to pass is essential.
