Role

Summary:

LCCC is looking for a Strategy Manager to become a core member of our Strategy & Performance team, and play an important role in helping the organisation develop and ultimately achieve its mission.

This role is for you if you:

  • Are a proactive ‘do-er’ – you enjoy getting things done, and seeing improvement and change
  • Enjoy a fast-paced, dynamic environment working across a broad and interesting variety of tasks and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Enjoy building collaborative relationships across an organisation
  • Are curious and creative – you like exploring new ways of working and thinking
  • Want to be a part of growing and scaling a purpose-driven organisation

LCCC is central to the delivery of the Government’s objective to deliver energy security and net zero. Our roles are expanding and diversifying beyond renewable electricity generation, to support the development of other low carbon technologies such as hydrogen and carbon capture, usage and storage. LCCC is at a pivotal point in time; advising on, implementing and soon‑to‑be operating a growing number of these schemes.

It is an exciting time for a proactive and driven Strategy Manager to support the effective growth and development of LCCC.

LCCC’s Strategy and Performance team drives organisational success and shareholder confidence by developing and aligning strategy with performance outcomes and trusted governance. This includes delivering the strategy cycle and business planning, performance management and reporting, annual reports, securing funding and managing the relationship with our shareholder. The team also takes on a variety of special projects to help identify and solve issues of strategic importance and capture emerging opportunities.

We work in a collaborative, cross‑departmental way at all levels. The team regularly engages with and shares findings and recommendations with the CEO, Executive Team, Board and DESNZ. This is an exciting area to have an impact given the scale of growth and change LCCC is experiencing as we take on new schemes.

Key Responsibilities

The Strategy Manager will work in close collaboration with colleagues in the Strategy and Performance team, and beyond. The role has four core focus areas;

  • Managing the design and delivery of the annual strategy cycle and business planning to determine what the organisation needs to prioritise to achieve its objectives
  • Driving and supporting discrete strategic projects ranging from a few weeks to several months or more, to help LCCC deliver on its strategy.
  • Communication and engagement across the organisation
  • Supporting performance reporting
  • More detailed responsibilities have been articulated below:

Managing the Annual Strategy cycle -

Managing the design and delivery of the annual strategy cycle to assess our strategy, propose any adjustments, and determine what the organisation needs to prioritise to achieve its objectives.

    • Designing and delivering workshops for senior stakeholders (CEO, Executive team, Board) to identify areas for improvement
    • Independently leading internal and external analysis utilising appropriate strategic frameworks, defining key strategic questions, and developing options and roadmaps
    • Developing and documenting the company’s strategic direction; translating themes into actionable initiatives and projects that consider resource needs
    • Supporting in developing the company’s CEO Objectives and scorecard, so that they are in line…
