Senior Admissions Clerk

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the booking process for patients on the elective waiting list is followed within the agreed timeframe and process.
• Enter agreed surgery dates onto the EPR system, including cancelling and re‑arranging surgery dates.
• Arrange and book pre‑operative assessment appointments.
• Provide an efficient, polite and compassionate service to patients and service users regarding booking appointments and surgery dates.
• Deal with all calls to the admissions office regarding admission dates.
• Provide administrative support to pre‑operative assessment.
• Deputise for the Gynaecology Inpatient Waiting List Manager and directly support during peak activity.
• Work unsupervised and on own initiative, as well as within a team of clinical, management and clerical staff.
