Position: Team Manager - CASS Service (

Are you an inspirational, dynamic and experienced Social Worker/Team Manager who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and families?

Do you have the leadership skills, professional curiosity and drive to support a busy front door service to continue delivering excellent practice?

If so, Birmingham Children’s Trust wants to hear from you.

At Birmingham Children’s Trust, we are dedicated to providing high-quality care, support and safeguarding services for children and families across Birmingham. Our mission is to ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive in a safe, nurturing environment. We are a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation, committed to innovation, partnership working and excellence in social work practice.

The Children’s Advice and Support Service (CASS) is Birmingham Children’s Trust’s front door service. CASS plays a vital role in ensuring children and families receive the right help at the right time through timely, robust and child-centred decision-making. The service works at pace, managing high levels of demand and competing priorities, while maintaining a strong focus on quality, consistency and positive outcomes for children.

We are looking for a Team Manager who can lead with confidence, energy and enthusiasm. You will bring experience of partnership working, audit, quality assurance and performance oversight, and you will be able to use learning to strengthen practice, support improvement and promote excellent standards across the team.

You will work closely with other services across the Trust and with key partners, including police, health, education, early help and voluntary sector organisations. CASS has a strong reputation for delivering good services, effective partnership working, and timely, robust decision-making that contributes to positive outcomes for children and their families.

We have been rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted, following a 2023 inspection. This is a fantastic achievement for Birmingham Children’s Trust, with many positive highlights focusing on areas including the quality of staff leadership, partnership working, safeguarding and corporate parenting.

This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham, so you must reside within a suitable commutable distance around Birmingham and have the correct right-to-work documents to work in the UK. Sadly, we do not support those who require sponsorship.
