BT Group's Group Audit, Risk and Controls (GARC) function plays an important role in helping the business manage risk, strengthen resilience and maintain an effective control environment across the organisation. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Networks Risk and Controls, this role sits within the Networks Risk and Controls team and supports the continued embedding of BT's integrated risk, controls and assurance framework across the Networks unit.

As Networks Risk and Controls Manager, you'll focus on the implementation and continuous improvement of key control framework, coordination of the assurance activity, management of the key operational and emerging risks, and delivery of the reporting that supports informed decision-making. Working across a large and complex corporate environment, you'll partner with stakeholders throughout the business to help strengthen governance, improve controls and support a resilient risk management culture.

• Day-to-day management of the implementation and oversight of the Key Control Framework in the Networks Unit, including close cooperation with Networks control owners, managers and operators on control design, implementation, and continuous improvement.
• Facilitate control changes as required, including communicating changes and amending as required in Artemis, ensuring control activity is accurately reflected.
• Support control owners with the bi-annual self-assessment of Key Controls across the Networks Unit.

• Support risk owners in the identification and management of Networks Point and Emerging risks and associated actions.
• Contribute towards projects, initiatives and decision points that support the development of a future-facing and resilient Networks Unit.

• Act as Networks Unit Assurance liaison, acting as 'traffic control' for in-unit assurance activity, supporting unit teams with assurance queries and actions, acting as a primary point of contact for Group assurance providers.
• Prepare management reporting for Networks leadership on the status of dynamic risks, the Key Control Framework and assurance activity.

• Represent the Networks Risk and Controls team across a variety of forums, working with colleagues across Group Risk, Control and Assurance to share best practice and develop solutions to risk, control and assurance challenges.
• Mentor other risk and controls professionals, supporting capability development across the wider team.
• Champion and share knowledge of emerging trends and developments in risk and controls.

• Risk and controls experience gained within a large corporate environment, with exposure to implementing and maintaining effective control frameworks.
• Practical involvement in the implementation, operation, assessment or assurance of internal controls and control frameworks.
• A strong grounding in classical risk management disciplines, including risk identification, assessment, mitigation planning, monitoring and reporting across a business area.
• The ability to produce clear reporting and insights for senior leaders, supporting effective decision-making and governance.

• Experience with in telecommunications, or another regulated industry.
• Exposure to operational risk management, including the identification and management of emerging risks.
• An understanding of assurance activities and the remediation of control findings.
• The ability to build effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and work collaboratively across different teams.
• A confident communication style, with the ability to explain risk, controls and assurance concepts to different audiences.
• Experience analysing data and producing meaningful management information and reporting.
