Dual Registered Home Manager – Children’s Residential
Location: Erdington, Birmingham, B23
Salary: Up to £90,000 per annum + additional bonus structure
Homes: 3-bed EBD home + new solo 2:1 home
Ofsted Rating: Good

- Proven experience as a Registered Manager within a children's residential setting
- Experience managing children's residential services, ideally across more than one home
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
- Proven leadership and people management skills
- Experience supporting children and young people with EBD, complex needs, trauma or emotional and behavioural difficulties
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare
, or willingness to complete - Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing staff teams
- Experience managing recruitment, supervision, performance and staff development
- Strong organisational, communication and decision-making skills
- Experience working with Local Authorities, social workers, families and other external professionals
- A track record of achieving and maintaining positive Ofsted outcomes
- Full UK driving licence
- A child-centred, therapeutic and progressive approach to leadership
- The ability to confidently oversee two homes with different placement models
, including EBD and solo 2:1 provision
Roles & Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the safe and effective day-to-day management of both children's homes
- Lead the established 3-bed EBD home
, maintaining and building upon its existing Good Ofsted rating - Oversee the development, registration and operational launch of the new solo 2:1 home
- Ensure both homes operate in full compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and Ofsted requirements
- Lead, inspire and develop stable, motivated and high-performing staff teams
- Create and maintain safe, nurturing and therapeutic environments for children and young people
- Oversee safeguarding, care planning, risk management and placement stability
- Ensure children's individual needs, wishes and feelings remain central to all aspects of care
- Manage recruitment, induction, supervision, performance management and ongoing staff development
- Ensure staffing levels and deployment are appropriate to the individual needs and risk profiles of each young person
- Work collaboratively with Local Authorities, social workers, families and other professionals
- Monitor quality assurance, audits, recording and regulatory compliance across both homes
- Identify areas for improvement and implement effective action plans
- Maintain effective budgetary and operational oversight
- Support occupancy and ensure both homes operate effectively and sustainably
- Monitor outcomes for children and young people and drive continuous improvement
- Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections, ensuring recommendations and actions are addressed promptly
- Work closely with the experienced senior management team to maintain high standards across the service
- Lead by example, promoting a strong culture of safeguarding, accountability and child-centred practice
- Contribute to the organisation's wider growth and development plans, with opportunities for future progression
