A Council is seeking an experienced Pensions Process Improvement Lead to join the organisation on a 6-month interim basis, leading a programme of process improvement and transformation across the pensions service.
This is an exciting opportunity for a pensions professional with extensive knowledge of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and Teachers' Pension Scheme (TPS) to drive operational excellence, improve efficiency and strengthen service delivery.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of reviewing, redesigning and implementing pensions processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, mitigating risk and embedding best practice across complex pension environments.
- Lead end-to-end reviews of pensions processes and identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
- Design and implement streamlined, robust and compliant ways of working.
- Work collaboratively with pensions teams and key stakeholders to embed sustainable change.
- Identify operational risks and implement controls to improve quality, consistency and compliance.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on LGPS and TPS regulations, processes and best practice.
- Support the service through a period of transformation and continuous improvement.
- Develop and document new procedures, ensuring knowledge transfer and long-term sustainability.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented improvements, making recommendations where required.
- To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Significant experience working within pensions administration and process improvement environments. - Expert knowledge of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and Teachers' Pension Scheme (TPS). A strong background in reviewing, redesigning and improving complex business processes.
- Experience leading change initiatives and delivering measurable service improvements.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the confidence to challenge existing processes and drive positive change.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on reducing risk and improving operational performance.
