- Hybrid Working – Minimum 3 Days On-Site per Week
My client is seeking an experienced DFG Service Manager to lead the operational delivery of their Disabled Facilities Grant and Adaptations Service.
The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing the effective delivery of the service, with a particular focus on managing and reducing an existing adaptations backlog, improving performance and ensuring statutory and financial requirements are met.
Key Duties/Responsibilities- Leading the operational delivery of the DFG and Adaptations Service
- Managing service performance, compliance, budgets and grant expenditure
- Overseeing procurement activity and contractor frameworks
- Managing and reducing existing adaptations waiting lists and backlogs
- Driving service improvement, efficiency and process redesign
- Supporting the delivery of adaptation programmes and statutory obligations
- Working closely with Occupational Therapists, technical staff, contractors and senior stakeholders
- Monitoring performance and ensuring effective use of available grant funding
- Preparing reports and performance updates for senior management, elected members and governance boards
- Managing and supporting multidisciplinary teams
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, service delivery and customer outcomes
- Proven experience managing a Disabled Facilities Grant and/or Adaptations Service, ideally within a Local Authority environment
- Strong track record of reducing waiting lists, backlogs and improving service performance
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and working across professional disciplines
- Experience managing DFG budgets and maximising grant utilisation
- Good understanding of statutory requirements relating to DFGs and adaptations
- Experience overseeing procurement activity and contractor frameworks
- Demonstrable experience delivering service transformation, process redesign and continuous improvement
- Experience reporting to senior management, elected members or governance boards
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver effective operational outcomes
