Job Description Senior Project ManagerThis role is responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team to deliver Interchange Station (value of over £500m) on behalf of the Project Client, including driving delivery through working collaboratively with the designer and the contactor and managing risk, internal and external interfaces, dependencies and external stakeholders to enable efficient delivery of assigned scope to budget, time and quality. This is a values-led leadership role that requires effective decision making, relationship building and clear direction and accountability of the HS2 team and the supply chain.
AboutThe Role
- To be responsible for fulfilling the duties and obligations of the NEC3 Project Manager on behalf of the Project Client for the full Interchange Station scope.
- To be responsible for effectively and efficiently managing the design and construction contracts through leadership of the project team and undertaking delegated responsibilities from the Project Client.
- To be responsible for working with the supply chain and HS2 Project Controls to create insightful reporting that enables effective decision making at project level and clear points of escalation to the Project Client and beyond.
- To be responsible for establishing, monitoring and managing the delivery of consistent design and construction contract management, including identification of emergent or integration problems, leading the multi-functional team to resolution.
- To be responsible for managing and monitoring contract performance in collaboration with the HS2 commercial team.
- To review and accept programme schedule.
- To be responsible for proactively managing risks within the Integrated Project Team scope and support the mitigation of HS2 programme level risks.
- To be responsible for the Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM) duties as delegated by the Client Representative.
- To be responsible for the interface with HS2 teams external to the Interchange Project Team, and supporting any third party works and interfaces.
- To be responsible for supporting a collaborative culture which enables high performance by encouraging innovation and knowledge sharing between HS2 as the client, other Integrated Project Teams and the supply chain within Integrated Project Teams.
- Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.
- Project Management - the ability to develop, plan and integrate projects to optimise target costs, dependencies, risk management and project benefits. Skills profile aligned to APM Chartered Project Professional or equivalent qualification/skill level.
- Problem Solving – the ability to identify problems and review related information in order to manage the development and evaluation of options and implementation of solutions, including the ability to manage and plan multiple work streams and consider the competing demands of stakeholders, cost, time and quality.
