At Turning Point, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live the life they choose. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Team Manager to join our new Birmingham supported living service, supporting adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs, and complex needs.

As we launch this new service, you'll play a key role in building an inclusive team and creating an environment where people can develop independence, make their own choices, and achieve their personal goals.

As a not-for-profit organisation, we're passionate about creating positive change. Every penny we generate is reinvested into our services and people, helping us continuously improve the lives of those we support.

Why Join Us?

Our new Birmingham service provides 24-hour supported living support, helping people live fulfilling lives and build confidence in all aspects of daily living.

We take a highly person-centred approach, supporting individuals to develop life skills, access opportunities in their communities, and achieve outcomes that matter most to them. At the heart of everything we do is our belief in helping people be "Inspired by possibility."

The Role

Reporting to the Supported Living Manager, you will lead and manage support teams across one or more services, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and person-centred support.

You will provide day-to-day leadership, promote a positive and inclusive culture, and work closely with colleagues to ensure services meet quality, contractual, and financial expectations.

This is a varied role requiring visible leadership, flexibility, and a commitment to achieving excellent outcomes for the people we support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate, and develop teams through effective recruitment, induction, supervision, performance management, and wellbeing support.
  • Create a positive culture that reflects Turning Point's values and promotes learning, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure services remain safe, compliant, and inspection-ready through effective governance, safeguarding, audits, risk management, and quality assurance processes.
  • Support the management of budgets, staffing resources, and operational performance to ensure sustainable and high-quality service delivery.
  • Support referrals, assessments, transitions, and service development activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with GDPR and organisational policies.
  • Use performance data and digital systems to identify opportunities for improvement and enhance service delivery.
  • Provide management cover when required and, in exceptional circumstances, support frontline delivery to maintain safe services.
About You

We're looking for a confident and compassionate leader with experience in health or social care who is passionate about achieving positive outcomes for people with complex needs.

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience leading teams within a health or social care environment.
  • Experience supporting adults with complex and multiple needs.
  • Understanding of learning disabilities, mental health needs, and the Mental Health Act.
  • Experience in recruitment, performance management, coaching, and staff development.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, quality assurance, governance, and risk management.
  • Experience working within services regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
  • Ability to manage resources, budgets, and operational performance effectively.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with families, professionals, and external partners.
About us

As a leading health and social care provider with more than 300 locations across England, we take real pride in the services we offer.

We run all of our services on a not-for-profit basis; instead, we invest every penny back into our services and people. We never stop believing in change for the better, and we work constantly to improve the lives of the people we support.

What Benefits Will I Receive?

We know reward looks different to each person and so whether its ways to make your money go further, a culture supporting recognition and celebration, or opportunities to boost your career - we want to support you in every way we can with our total reward package.

You will get 32days' paid holiday a year, increasing with each year of service up to 34days. Plus the option to buy additional holidays and spread the cost.
