Production Manager, Manufacturing Engineer, Operations Manager, Quality Engineering
Production Control Manager In this newly created role with a small, fast‑growing sub‑contract aerospace precision engineering company, you will manage end‑to‑end production planning and control using the newly introduced ERP system to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery of safety‑critical aerospace products. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will own the planning, coordination and control of manufacturing activities across the company operations, ensuring customer commitments are met, resources are used efficiently, and all work is delivered in line with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage master production schedules aligned to customer demand and contractual delivery dates.
Monitor production progress, proactively adjusting plans for delays, capacity constraints or material shortages.
Coordinate closely with Engineering, Procurement, Quality and Manufacturing to maintain a seamless production flow.
Oversee MRP to ensure availability of parts, raw materials and tooling while controlling inventory levels.
Work with suppliers and Purchasing to resolve supply chain risks and shortages.
Ensure all production activities comply with AS9100 and relevant EASA/FAA regulations, documentation and traceability requirements.
Support internal and external audits, maintaining robust configuration control.
Track and report KPIs (on‑time delivery, schedule adherence, efficiency, inventory accuracy).
Identify bottlenecks and lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
Lead, mentor and develop the production control function as the company grows, communicating status and risks to senior management.
Qualifications5‑8 years’ production planning/control experience in aerospace or a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
Proven experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, IFS, E‑Max). (Specific package training can be given.)
Background in complex assemblies, long lead‑time components and configuration‑controlled products.
Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes and production planning/capacity management.
Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems and ideally airworthiness regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with high attention to detail.
Effective leadership and team management skills.
Clear and confident communicator, able to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Resilient and organized, with the ability to perform under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Working ConditionsPrimarily office‑based with regular time spent on the production floor.
Occasional travel to supplier and customer sites as required.
Job DetailsThis is a permanent role with a starting salary dependent on experience.
