Company Overview We are recruiting for a leading supplier of wood finishes, protective coatings, and spray shop consumables, partnering with some of the world's most recognised manufacturers.

The Role We are currently seeking a Lab / Operations Assistant to join the West Midlands team.

This is a hands-on, varied role, predominantly lab-based, supporting the manufacture of bespoke and repeat colours (including stains). You will also assist across warehouse and office functions, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and responsibility in a busy operational environment.

This position plays a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, high-quality standards, and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities Manufacture bespoke and repeat colours, including stains, in line with procedures and QC standards Assist with daily operations across lab, warehouse, and office functions Maintain accurate laboratory and quality records Support stock control, inventory management, and order picking Put stock away safely and efficiently Communicate with customers and suppliers via phone and email Assist with continuous improvement initiatives Provide holiday cover for other team members when required ️ Handle paint drums up to 30kg (manual handling involved) Skills & Experience Lab or colour matching experience preferred (full training provided if required)

️ Understanding of quality control processes Methodical, organised, and detail-focused Confident IT user with basic mathematical skills Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach Flexible and adaptable attitude No sensitivity to paints or solvents Benefits Competitive salary (£26,000 - £27,000) Company pension scheme Free on-site parking Stable, long-term opportunity within a growing business Interested?
