Quality Manager

Contek are working with a leader in Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM), spark erosion, wire erosion, and wire EDM, looking to appoint an experienced Quality Manager to lead the group. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the operation, primarily based out of the Birmingham facility, however the role is for someone who will have responsibility for both sites and we envisage at a minimum a need to be in the Gloucester facility once every two weeks, this could increase in frequency for such topics as quality/NADCAP audits at times

Quality

- Maintain an effective business Quality Management System

- Ensuring compliance with current Nadcap, AS9100, ISO Standards and any Customer Standards that are in process.

- Work with Inspection & Machine Operators to produce FAIRS

- Work with Inspection & Machine Operators for any parts requiring Lab Tests and send to appropriate Laboratory as per Customer requirements

- Work with Inspection on 1st Off and Final Inspection where required

- Oversee recast examination samples components being cut

- Validate samples to ensure they’re free from damage and meet necessary specifications - Organise recast examinations with approved laboratories

- Validate recast examination certificate to ensure all is correct and meets the specification requirements

- Producing NCR’s, CA’s, CI’s and other Quality related documentation and requirements from each as per procedures

- Maintaining NCR, CA, CI and other Quality related logs

- Conduct internal calibrations per procedures and ensure all are up to date

- Ensure machine maintenance checklists are signed on regular basis

- Oversee organisation of external calibration as per calibration procedure

- Maintain Jig & Fixture register ensuring up-to-date

- Sign off Contract Reviews when required

- Carry out End of Month checks as required i.e. o Post EDM Liquid Maintenance – check and record o Ultrasonic Tank Cleaner

– complete maintenance sheet, stamp & sign o Wire Erosion machine Conductivity Test – complete instructions on form o Inspection Table light test – should be 1000 lux
- Complete end of months charts – Internal PPM, Internal Defective PPM, External Defective PPM, Sales Delivery Chart, PPM Delivered to Customer

- Organise and maintain quarterly Management Reviews with Top Management Documentation / Procedures

- Maintain up-to-date log of customer Standards and Specifications

- Ensure all paperwork is complete and correct as required by procedures

- Ensure that all paperwork is legible, signed and stamped where applicable - Sign and stamp where required as per procedures - Follow Procedures that apply to each form, log etc - Notify appropriate staff listed by procedures if something isn’t understood and more training is required

- Notify appropriate staff if errors are noticed on forms, logs etc

- Ensure that all paperwork, digital or physical is stored appropriately and correctly as per procedures

General - Keep work area tidy. Return tools & equipment to their appropriate locations including fixtures returning to their locations as per procedures

- Appropriately dispose of packaging from materials and consumables - Maintain responsibility for any equipment assigned

- Practice safe working habits.

- Use appropriate PPE where required, safe handling of tools, equipment, stock, components etc - Continual improvement – Suggest if any improvements that can be made in any area
