💷 £13.75 - £14.00 per hour DOE
Overview
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Assembler & Welder to join a leading engineering and manufacturing operation based in Wolverhampton. This is a full-time, permanent role working on the assembly and fabrication of heavy-duty equipment and components.
Key Responsibilities
Assembly & Fabrication
Assemble mechanical components, frames, and structures following engineering drawings and build instructions
Use hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment to complete mechanical builds
Fit, secure, and align components to required specifications Welding
Carry out MIG welding on mild steel to a high standard
Perform welding on structural parts, sub‑assemblies, and fabricated units
Conduct visual inspections of welds to ensure quality and accuracy
Quality & Compliance
Work to engineering tolerances and quality control processes
Ensure all work meets safety standards and production requirements
Complete checks and documentation where required
General Workshop Duties
Operate safely within a busy manufacturing environment
Maintain a clean and organised workstation
Support wider production teams as necessary
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience as an Assembler / Welder in a manufacturing or engineering environment
Strong MIG welding skills (fillet and butt welds)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication diagrams
Confident using hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and power tools
Good understanding of workshop safety practices
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
