We are currently recruiting for an experienced Production Manager to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and hands‑on leader to oversee production operations, manage teams effectively, and drive continuous improvement across the facility.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and in line with quality standards while leading and developing a high‑performing production team.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee daily production operations to ensure output, quality, and delivery targets are met
- Lead, motivate, and develop production teams across the manufacturing facility
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, productivity, and reduce waste
- Monitor KPIs and production performance, implementing corrective actions where required
- Work closely with engineering, quality, planning, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations
- Manage production schedules and resource planning to meet customer demand
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures
- Support process improvement and Lean manufacturing activities across the site
- Identify training and development needs within the production team
- Manage staffing levels, performance reviews, and employee engagement activities
- Previous experience in a Production Manager role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Proven experience driving operational and continuous improvement initiatives
- Good understanding of Lean manufacturing principles
- Ability to manage production targets, KPIs, and operational performance
- Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities
- Experience working within fast‑paced manufacturing environments
- HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Operations Management preferred
- Salary between £55,000 - £60,000 depending on experience
