Salary: £14.00 - £14.50 per hour (depending on experience)
Shift Pattern (Rotating Weekly):
Morning
Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm
Afternoon
Shift: Monday to Thursday, 2:00pm - 11:30pm, Friday 2:00pm - 6:00pm
📌 Overview
We are seeking an experienced Laser Setter & Operator to join a well-established and growing precision sheet metal manufacturing business. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, operating, and maintaining laser cutting machinery to produce high-quality components for a diverse customer base.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in laser operations who is looking to develop their skills within a fast-paced production environment.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines efficiently and safely
Load programs and materials in accordance with production requirements
Adjust machine parameters to ensure optimal cutting performance and quality
Interpret and work from engineering drawings and job specifications
Carry out routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of machinery
Perform quality checks to ensure products meet required tolerances and standards
Maintain accurate production records and documentation
Ensure all work is completed within agreed timescales and targets
Adhere to all health & safety procedures at all times
Keep work area clean, organised, and compliant with company standards
✅ Skills & Experience Required
Previous experience setting and operating laser cutting machines (e.g. Trumpf, Bystronic, or similar)
Ability to read and understand technical/engineering drawings
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
Experience working with sheet metal in a manufacturing environment
Flexible approach to work and willingness to work rotating shifts
Good communication and teamwork skills
